Third person

I had two dreams recently, both worth remembering: my mother and a Japanese friend way back in college. Both are about meeting them for the first time in years. As in real life, the conversation I had with my mother was riveting and emotional; with my Japanese friend it seemed meditative, just as long ago when we used to talk about life at midnight. Meeting with my Mom (third-person) in the dream dismayed me at first, as her face wasn't the same anymore: it was whiter, with a smaller face shape, as if masked (Kabuki), but in the dream I knew, I knew it was Mom. It only culminated when I hugged her and her face suddenly sagged, her dimples showing in an instant: there she is, my Mom.
